About ILKW

ILKW Lighting Design was founded in 1962 in South Korea as a lighting and bulb manufacturer, a craft that became the foundation of its multi-generational family business. In 2017, the company pivoted toward designing contemporary lighting solutions, guided by a philosophy of quiet purity – an exploration of how light can shape emotion through form, material and restraint. Drawing on its industrial design heritage, the studio refined its identity around sculptural minimalism, creating pieces that feel both poetic and precise. Each collection is developed with a deep respect for craftsmanship and a sensitivity to the sensory qualities of light: softness, balance and atmosphere. Over time, ILKW has become known for its distinctive silhouettes and commitment to thoughtful innovation, creating lighting that moves effortlessly between artful form and everyday function.
